I need to get this working predictably because I am trying to up a home network with standard name resolution technologies (primarily DNS).However, in SystemPreferences-Wi-Fi-Advanced-WINS, I can see the NetBIOS name is set to MACBOOKPRO-XYZ1 (modified in this example).I didnt set it myself, but from reading around it seems that routers sometimes just do this sort of thing. For example, it is showing up in as my hostname in my Bash PS1 prompt.
I dont know how to access the configuration of DNS or NetBIOS on the router itself. I get a message to say that the number I have dialed is incorrect or incomplete. Ive managed to successfully extract the VoIP server details and account settings from the Sagemcom router Optus gave me and Im trying to use them on a Sipura VoIP adapter but Im unable to achieve successful registration. Sagemcom Telnet Code It ToHas anyone here managed to get this to working If so, did you have to do anything special to get it to work EDIT: I have it working now (touch wood) Once you extract the password from the routers config (routeripmain.html) this password is encoded in Base64 so you head over to and decode it to get the real password. Ignore any funny characters that might appear at the end of the decoded password and your good to go. Some details I found online that helped. Sip03.yesphone.optus.com.au (for Queensland) sip02.yesphone.optus.com.au (for Victoria) sip01.yesphone.optus.com.au (NSW) For me (in NSW) if I use the DNS address for the SIP Proxy it wouldnt stay registered. If I instead specified the IP from the config it would work fine - This is with a FritzBox 7390. Inside that same config you can look for 211.29.150.12 to find the IP you should be using as the Proxy. So now we will see if it stays working over the next few days. I just had the NBN connected with Optus yesterday, and Ive been given one of these crippled routers, too. Unfortunately the Y3s0ptus password doesnt work on mine, nor any of the other suggested defaults that Ive found (password, admin, blank password, etc). And annoyingly, it seems that they now encrypt or scramble the backupsettings.conf file, so its not possible to find a base64 encoded password within it: file backupsettings.conf backupsettings.conf: raw G3 data, byte-padded This crippleware is a real nasty piece of crap. It gives the option to forward ports, which I need so that I can access my home network from outside, but this option doesnt actually work, and none of those ports open up. Tags you should need are, Obviously use the SIP server configured in your modem. I got ISP branded modemrouter Sagemcom Fst 5310, unfortunately its firmware is heavily blocked( ex. So I managed to locate serial pins on pcb and successfully connect them via UART- USB converter..yesphone.optus.com.au.yespho ne.optus.com.au 6174420.yesphon e.optus.com.au Decode PWD here - I just tested on x-lite softphone and can make and receive calls, i used sip03.yesphone.optus.com.au for the Domain setting. And since you were nice enough to spend some of your time explaining this. When I first looked at the modem the voip was blank, but after a few minutes it filled out then user namepassword. Then using the technique listed above, I grabbed a copy of the encrypted passwords and all SIP user data. Under SERVICE PROVIDER I created a new VOIP provider and filled out as followed SIP Domain Name(from optus modem).yesphone.optus.com.au SIP Proxy (from optus modem).yesphone.optus.com.au SIP Proxy Port 5060 SIP Outbound Proxy(from optus modem).yesphone.optus.com.au SIP Outbound Proxy Port5060 SIP Registrar (from optus modem).yesphone.optus.com.au SIP Registrar Port 5060 4. Under SIP ACCOUNT I created a new VOIP Account and filled out as followed Extension 07xxxxxxxx Display Name 07xxxxxxxx Username 07xxxxxxxx Password I Decrypted the Password from between the area. Authentication ID 617xxxxxxx the rest I set-up as per normal. And it registered ok.place OPTUS modem in the cupboard for a emergency spare.:). I have just connected to the Optus entertainment 90 bundle. Using the info here I have successfully connected it to the Optus siphone number I was given but have a big issue. I am unable to dial 13xxxx, 1300, 1800 and presumably 1900 numbers.
